  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Well I've had my car (5.0 Ultimate) for about four months now and about 1900 miles. So far have had the following problems:

1) Rear shade doesn't roll up on cold mornings. When putting car in reverse shade drops but doesn't roll up, bunches all up in the bottom of the window.

2) Front Passenger window sometimes will not operate from either button.

3) Clunk from rear end under hard acceleration. Only heard it once, haven't been able to duplicate.

That's it so far. What have others experienced?

There is already a 37 page thread here on problems with the '15 Genesis. What we needed was yet another thread.

1. My Lexicon setting Surround Sound will not stay selected ON. Every time I start the car I have to go into settings and select it ON again.
2. Tires Flat spot after sitting overnight.
3. Lack of 12Volt power for the rear seats.

There is a guy on this forum, who spent ~3 months chasing that KNOCK IN REAR END and never found the cause.

That one is not a "problem" that occurred after you bought the car. It never had one when sold, so is more of a future product desire.

I agree, just expected that it would mirror my 2009 setup. It is sometimes overwhelming to seek and search out all aspects when your excited to be purchasing a new Gen 2. Blind sided be my own excitement. The 2009 even had a power outlet in the trunk.

Couldn't find a specific "problems/failures" thread, only likes/dislikes.

I hear ya. Even with some obvious misses and oversights, the G2 seems worlds better overall than the G1, which was not too shabby itself.

Ugh, this was a problem on the 1st Gen too.

I have flat spot issues on my tires after just sitting for a hour, it's starting to get real annoying! I'll be dropping the car off at the dealer soon and let you guys know what they say.

Thanks for all the valuable posts in this thread. Please note that this is not a "solutions" thread nor does it address any vehicles beyond the second generation platform. It is meant solely for folks to talk about issues with their new version Genesis and see if any trends show up.

Let's try to respect the various subject forums that our webmaster has established for our use. That is also how members can most easily locate information that they are seeking.

Lighten up. There are plenty of duplicate threads here on many topics. If the other one is 37 pages it is time for a new one. I started a thread because of a sunroof rattle. Should I have put that in the 37 page thread too? Geez.

In terms of the "clunk" in the trunk. If you only heard it once then I wouldn't call it a problem.

There is also one for tires and wheels. Does that mean someone enquiring about tires and wheels for the 2015 genesis should post there? Give me a break.
