  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Okay! This is really starting to get to me now! As carcapco mentioned in this post, WHITE PAINT is not available because of a problem - and they RAN OUT of Genesis models with the TECHNOLOGY package..

What other problems have there been? I thought I read somewhere about another problem with this launch. WTF is going on?! THIS is why Hyundai is "Hyundai"! This is REALLY pissing me off...

Ran out? I don't think that makes sense. I don't think Genesis is that well-known yet to sell like crazy so they can actually 'RAN OUT' of them. I had doubts with the Genesis before, and I think I am pretty much seeing the picture that I pretty much expected here. Well, it seems that only the western part of the country got any of them in stock now, and all I hear about them is, problem, problem, and problem in shipping. Surely, Hyundai should have been more prepared than this if one of their cars as hyped up as the Genesis is finally being exported. Especially, if they want to win some NON-KOREAN buyers into their showrooms.

So far, They've done pretty much nothing in the right direction, and I am not sure if it will even match their original goal. It will be lucky if they don't gather dusts in the showroom and turns out to be sold to the rental fleets instead.

Wake Up, Hyundai. Wake Up!!!!

Keep in mind the official Genesis release date is July 15th. They are not even supposed to be anywhere but the port yet. So consider yourself lucky that you have the opportunity to nitpick the manufacturer that is trying their best to get some cars out early for the enthusiasts. And the "problem" with the white paint is not a "problem" at all. The head engineer was not happy that the white paint had a slightly different hue after their aging process when you compared the metal vs the bumper covers. He said it looks like a Lexus and he wasn't happy with that. So he sent it back to be "fixed".

It happens all the time that a manufacturer anticipates a certain percentage of customers to order certain packages and they miss the mark. So if a package is hard to get, that may be why. But until the car is fully rolled out and dealers are at full inventory levels, I would reserve judgement.

Yes, it's always easy to find fault with something if you're looking for it. Every manufacturer has problems. If you think Hyundai is bad just try VW. They routinely push back vehicle launches, give out bad info., release the same car with two different types of leather trim (this happened on both the MKIV Jetta/Golf and B5 Passat....some cars had smooth leather and others had deeply grained "rough" leather, with no rhyme or reason). In fact, many within the VW community know what VW really stands for: Varies Widely. ;)

GrandPrix08.. They're simply getting more orders than they had expected... They're not trying to say that they've got so many orders they can't keep up with them...

Otherwise - that's true - July 15th is the date.. And the paint "problem" doesn't sound so bad.. Things like this should be clarified...

Just got a call from my salesman to see how things are going with the Genesis. He stated that they sold 2 more since I got mine on Saturday. He also said they just got a shipment of 10-12 more which brings their total Genesis inventory to 12-14. I forgot to ask if they had any white or Tech package models. Still, it's a bit confusing that some dealerships are now on their 2nd shipment, while others aren't expected to get their first Genesis for another 1-6 weeks.
