  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Picked it up on Thursday for $28,500 with 22,000 miles on it.
This car drives like a dream, very comfortable and smooth. It is everything I expected it to be plus more, but the entertainment system is so confusing. There is no way to figure out most functions without reading the manual (which I still need to find some time to do).

So far I have done the flapper air box mod and replaced the stock mufflers with a custom axle back exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers. The car sounds so much better now that you can actually hear the awesome 5.0 under the hood. Does it drone at low RPMs? Slightly, maybe, but the sound is not noticeable with the media volume at moderate listening levels. Plus my previous car was a modified Mitsubishi Evo iX with a 3" full turbo back exhaust so compared to that, the Genny is relatively quiet as a mouse.

I also have on order the rigid collars and a set of Niche Form M157 wheels in 20x8.5 +25 and 20x10 +40. I am planning on wrapping them with Continental ExtremeContact DW in 245/40 for the fronts and 275/35 for the rears. I'll hopefully have the wheels and tires installed by the end of the week and will post pics once I do.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Fine looking automobile. Especially in black! :)

Excellent choice and those nice Niche wheels will be a wonderful contrast for the sumptuous dark curves IMO..

I must say your timing is impeccable, if all goes well for both of us, next weekend we will both be able to share some nice photos with the group, akin to something like this:

More to follow... ;)

Very nice! Can you elaborate on the " flapper air box mod"? I searched for any other threads on this but found nothing. I just purchased a 2012 Genny R-Spec...

Thanks Lando.

Since the last time I posted, I've installed a K&N air filter and my wheels came in. The look so much better in person than they do on the manufacturers website. I'll be getting them installed tomorrow, but here are a couple pics of just the wheels.

Got the wheels and tires installed today, looks fantstic. Car and tires are dirty and will get a nice wash tomorrow so I can take more pictures, but here is one for now.

Nicely done my man. you wheels look amazing....

As I said, your timing was remarkable, we could not have planned our upgrades this way, even if we tried:

Same day install, same wheel manufacturer, same year and model, but opposite colors and different wheel models!

That's a great setup you have there for both cars, David. Nice coincidence we got them installed on the same day, haha. Cheers!
