  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone.

We looked at BMW 7 Series, we looked at E and S Class Mercedes and we looked at Lexus GS ($80k?? - what is that all about??) - at the end of the day we bought the Genesis. The looks, the ride and the technology is great!

We went with the Pearl Black and tan leather interior. I need to find a car cover next!

It gets tinted on Monday - pics to follow.

Thanks

Welcome aboard, and good luck with your new ride. A FINE CHOICE!:welcome:

Search here under "tint" to view the discussion on metallic vs. non-metallic tint for the rear window.:)

In your purchase details post you said you got a black interior:confused:

Congrats!

:welcome: to the club. :grouphug:

On a side note, I'm a bit confused by your post. There is no such thing as an $80k Lexus GS. Were you thinking E550? Those can run around $75k fully-loaded (totally insane for a midsize non-AMG model IMO).

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Welcome to the board and congrats on a fine purchase! No matter what other cars you considered $70-$80K for a lux sedan is double the price. Genesis is a lot of car for the money, tough to spend all that extra $$ for a badge and a latte.

Welcome aboard... and congrats on the purchase! but the 80k for a GS? thats a little overpriced. Actually not even a little thats like 20grand more than a fully loaded GS450/460. Lets not exxxxxxagerate that much please.

Congratulations on a GREAT purchase! I've had mine for about three weeks now, and I'm back to getting excited when I have to get behind the wheel and go somewhere...and I drive A LOT!

Enjoy the fun...like the rest of us who are OWNERS!!!!

Don't get the wrong tint! Certain types of tint interfere with GPS/ Nav.

Actually I think it's been established that metallic tint will only negatively effect radio reception (mainly AM).

My fault - the interior is a gorgeous tan. Goes in for tinting today.

Thanks!

You are right - it was\is the LS that was stickered at $80k. They also had the LS Hybrid that was only $120k (ugh)!

My error - is is\was the LS that is $80k - not the GS.

Thanks

Welcome aboard, GWHunter! Thank you for signing up and congratulations on your new Hyundai Genesis! Those are some nice cars you looked at! It's amazing what the Genesis is being cross-shopped with. :) We'll be waiting for those pictures!

I took my Genesis in for a wash and the service tech asked if I liked my S Class. The look on his face when I told him it was a new Hyundai was priceless!.

That's unbelievable!! That line would make a great signature. :p

Congrats on your new ride. Today I was down in LA and was stopped by a guy that asked me if my Genesis was the new Aston Martin Sedan because of the wing'd emblems. He just about died when I told him it was a Hyundai. He asked me to take him for a ride and I did, he kept saying he could not believe it. It was priceless.

A Hyundai mistaken for an Aston Martin... heh! Imagine? Very, very cool...

While I am impressed, I would be a LOT more impressed if you had told us the person requesting the riding was a stunningly beautiful woman! Of course, I would expect the post to be a lot longer as well. :)
