  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi,

I have a 2010 Genesis Coupe, 3.8 L- Grand Touring Edition. It has the proximity key. The drivers side black button used to enter the car, lock the car is acting up. Sticking. Doing funky things.

Any ideas on how to pull this apart without having to bring it to the dealer?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,

Doug C

Try using some Contact / Electronic Cleaner if you can before taking it apart..

I use it all the time to free up Gunked up Keyboards & switches and it works pretty well..

My 2 cents..:)

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the suggestion. Is there an easy way to take off the door handle? I'm not looking to getting into ripping out the inside door, armrest, etc... If I do have to go that route, have you ever done it before? Is it easy?

Your help and support are really appreciated !!

Thanks,

Doug
