  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Proximity sensor false warning

:mad:I am getting a false visual warning from the right rear sensor. Visual only, on ALL the time. Audible warning works OK if you come close to it. It's not dirty, ( I cleaned it ). Anyone any experience in this regard ?
I am starting to have issues with my front proximity sensors, they would go off for no reason while i'm driving, it used to happen once in a blue moon, now it's getting more frequent and annoying. I have to turn off the sensor and even when i turn it back on it happens again. Very Frustrating!!!!!

Here's what I've learned, if you're having an intermittent sensor problem try to get to the dealer while the problem is active because the system doesn't store the failure code once the problem is cleared. In my case, I was able to show the service dept. my failure on a Monday but we didn't know to extract a code. I dropped my car off on Thursday and a week later they couldn't determine which sensor had failed because the intermittent problem was not reared its ugly head. Long story short, Hyundai tech support finally gave the service techs the ok to replace both center rear sensors and the day the sensors arrived the car finally failed again, they got the code and replaced the single faulty sensor. All is now well again. This was a waranty replacement, also, keep in mind that some sensors are received unpainted so you're dealer may need to paint it. Hope this helps.
