If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Purchase Details so we all can prosper!

My Pittsburgh dealer tells me the Costco price is MSRP for the V-8 and $900 over invoice for the V-6!

The CostCo price is bunk. It varies from dealer to dealer.

Costco really doesn't help much.

Since for example if one of my clients checks themselves for a Honda Fit- in most cases that model is exempt from Costco Pricing.

So for me- means nothing- so what if they might show a price below MSRP- doesn't mean anything- if the dealer is holding for more- and like anything- Costco can't do much- since even if they stop that dealership from costco members- big deal- the dealership still makes sales and doesn't have to kickback money to costco.

I know i probably not have _the_ best deal, but for a legal alien (read: foreigner 1 month in possession of SSN and NO credit history) in the current economic situation i think i got a very nice deal and at the same time set my first steps to building credit.
Nice set of first "wheels", i certainly feel :welcome: this way in the usa :D

dth The deal is in the eye of the beholder. I got a ver simalar deal at Keyes and I am very happy. The V8 is simply phenomenal!! Was Danny M. your salesman?

My deal went through the internet sales guy Ramon.
Unfortunatly, when i went to pickup the car this morning the dealer which has the car with the colorsettings i want, changed it's mind and doesn't want to swap cars. So now i'll have to wait a while (7-10days) till a new one arrives at the dealer ship. Driving a santa-fe in the mean time. I'll just have to practice some patience, and the feeling driving of the lot in the v8 will be all the sweater (i hope) ;)

I can tell you that in the Southeast market the V-6 price is $500 over invoice. I confirmed that with three separate dealers here.

Folks -- Without violating an NDA that I have in place I can't give too many details, but I can tell you this: Costco does NOT get kickbacks from the dealers on the Costco car buying program. Dealers / Manufacturers / Regions do pay a fee to participate (in most cases) but that fee doesn't vary if they sell one car or a million cars through the program. Also, pricing should NOT vary from dealer to dealer. With some manufacturers the price is nationwide, with others it is regional, but the price certainly should not vary within the same region. The Costco price may or may not be the best deal. At the end of a model year, on a vehicle with lots of units in stock, it certainly NOT to be the best price. Right now, on a vehicle with tight inventory in most places, like the Genesis, it is at very least a good starting point for negotiation. When I first started contacting dealers in the Southeast I was being told that they wouldn't go below MSRP, suddenly, when I told them I would be working with the Costco affiliated dealer in my area, prices started going down. I eventually ended up buying for $750 below the Costco price which made my final price $250 under invoice (yes I know there were additional holdbacks and the dealer wasn't losing money). Anyway, to each his own, but I like starting my negotiations at something below MSRP so that I have a smaller distance to take the negotiations to get the deal I want.

My Hyundai dealer in Cincinnati, Ohio offered me MSRP and the $750 cash back. This comes to $800 per month with just the first month's payment down. I think that is steep. Anyone knows a closeby dealership which offers better deal?

Hey. Danny M is a great Internet Manager. I'm one of the retail sales rep at Keyes.

Hey. I think I saw you today at the dealership. Did you get the Titanium Gray? Congrats on your Genesis.

Date: 03 NOV 2008
Model: V8 tech
State: Ontario
Buy/Lease: Buy
Final Negotiated Price on Sales Invoice: $46,995 (MSRP is $48,995)
Rebate: none up here
Dealer installed options: Got cargo tray and net thrown in for free
Warranty or Protection Plan $ & Years: $2,600 8 yrs/ 140,000 km HPP

This is one of the only dealers in the province actually getting any V8 w/tech so they were not very flexible on price. I did get 4.01% financing though.

I just spoke with my Costco selling dealership here in San Diego which is Frank Hyundai. They are offering me $500 LESS than invoice on BOTH a 3.8 or 4.6 with a tech package. That would bring a fully loaded 3.8 Tech to around $36,863 or a V-8 Tech to $38400 before TTL

That is good!!!

I was offered the $42K v8/tech for $40k from a dealer from whom I bought my Azera - numbers still need to get better before I get involved..

why should numbers get better before you get involved no other car offers you what the gen does at this price. amazing how ppl still dont see value try this kind of bargaining at a lexus, mercedes, bmw dealer and see where it gets you. even six months after the particular car has been out.

WOW! With the extra you paid up there it would have paid plenty of gas or a one-way flight to the States to buy it down here and then drive it back.

Well, either way, you've got yourself one heck of a car! And Congratulations young man on a wonderful purchase!!!!:D

OK guys, now I can share with authority! Just picked up my Genesis (Titanium/Black w/Tech). Awesome! It is everthing you'all said is was! OK. Did the deal in July (believe it or not) but closed it with $39,286.21 (before tax, title, licence). LESS the $500.00 rebate for the demonstration/drive event, so it ended up at $38,786.21 before TTL.

Thanks PINGGOLF, because I did get the extended warrantee for $1400 - which EXPLICITLY covers the whole car including TECH for the Full 100,000 miles. Since the base coverage is only 36,000 miles on the Tech, I STRONGLY recommend anyone who plans on keeping their Genesis more than 3 years to consider the extended. The Head unit is $4000.00, for an example! Each dealer may have different packages, SO READ THE WARANTEE BEFORE buying!

So now I can echo all of the others "I LOVE THIS CAR!"

I'm an engineer by training, but this has got to be the most intuitive control system out there. I did look at the new Lincoln too, but was amazed at the lack of logic in the control sequence! The Genesis got it right!

Also a special "thanks" to Frank at Voyles, who made the waiting bearable by providing much needed info along the way!

Anybody who still wonders, the V8 IS WORTH the wait!!! The power and the "extra goodies" are worth it!
