If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Purchase Details so we all can prosper!

Just got my Genny last night after lurking on the site for the past 8 months. 2011 V8, 46K miles. Clean car fax, 1 owner. Clean interior and exterior. 19500 + TTL, no additional warranties. Red with Cashmere interior. And I am loving it! Been looking for a while, was hoping to get one in the 18-19K range and was glad when the dealer worked with me to get into the one I wanted.

Wasn’t aware that you could buy a CPO car from anyone expect a Hyundai dealer.
This dealer (Spreen Honda in Loma Linda, CA) carries their own certification on every car they sell, they cover everything the factory CPO would give you for 120,000 miles plus a 10 year unlimited mileage roadside assistance. I also bought my Wife's Sonata Limited as a CPO from another Honda Dealer (Riverside Honda in Riverside, CA), however that is a factory CPO due to Riverside Hyundai being in the same auto group.

Bumping this with interest. Any new owners (especially R-Spec owners) finding good fortune at the dealers? I'm seeing new 2014 5.0 R-Spec prices around $38k +TTL, which is clearly a good deal. Just wondering if anyone has been able to drive that down any further, especially with the end of the month approaching.

I'm conflicted over whether they will get even cheaper next month (current incentives expire 11/3) or if I should just buy now because the lease situation may get worse (lower residuals, or lease option eliminated entirely).

Bought a 2012 4.6, silver w/saddle interior, for $22,000 and 33k miles on it. Bought from an independent dealer in TN sight unseen. It arrives today, so we'll see how it turns out. Supposed to be in perfect condition. I have no idea if the Edmunds TMV pricing is worth anything, but its close to trade-in value according to that. I couldn't find anything close to this price locally, so hopefully this was a good deal. Even offered that price to a few local dealers that had V6's w/tech and premium pkgs, and they wouldn't touch it.

The closest I got for a new 2014 5.0 R-Spec was $38,150 after basic lease incentives. With Texas taxes (which you pay on the full purchase price), they just couldn't get me a lease below $520 or so. Several dealers gave me a run-around that tempted me to drive a couple of hours, but they always balked when I asked for written offers with the numbers they were claiming. I did miss a good deal in October when one of the banks was offering to subsidize the taxes, which would have gotten me in the car no problem. But the dealer blew that one by not explaining the situation until the incentive was over. Then I drove a 2015 model, which really spoiled me.

Since I couldn't afford a 2015 3.8 Tech and didn't want to wait until I could, I ended up leasing a 2014 Cadillac ATS. The price was similar to a '14 R-Spec, but with better incentives and residual, the lease was a no-brainer. And the Cadillac dealer was so much easier to deal with than the bonehead Hyundai guys I had been talking to for 6 weeks.

I've got a lot less horsepower and a smaller car, but I'm happy. I have some regret that I don't have a 429hp luxury behemoth in the garage, but I'll be eyeing the newer Genesis again in three years when it's time to upgrade again. Or the new ATS-V, of course (though I'm sure I'll need more space by then).

Thats a bummer you couldn't get a better deal. Sorry to hear it but glad you're enjoying your ATS.

For others reading better deals are still out there for 2014 5.0 R-Specs.

Per my thread here: http://genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showthread.php?t=14410

And subsequent concessions from the dealer after a couple finance hiccups that were entirely their fault I ended up at $35.4k after incentives but before small trade-in (~$1k) and TTL, zero down 36/36 lease, $340/mo. This was at the end of September.

I had 3 local dealers in the mix, 2 from the same dealer group.

Just traded my 3.8 2012 for a 2015 3.8 with the Tech and Signaure packages, cargo tray, wheel locks, 3M window tint and nitrogen in the tires. They marked the car down to $44,100, gave me $20,000 for the 2012 and with the customer loyalty of $1,000 I was out the door for $22,100 plus TTL. Other dealers got as low as $41,685 for a similar car but gave less on the trade-in value.

Keep us posted how you like the difference with the new wheels...

Yeah, your thread there is actually what got me motivated, and that was the price range I was hoping for. But I think by the time I got moving (mid-October), I felt like I had missed the boat. Residuals went down, incentives were stagnant, and no dealer within 500 miles (and there are lots of them) was willing to lease me the car for less than $38k or $450/mo (plus tax), even with serious prodding for 6 weeks.

So far, I do like the ATS (totally different car, obviously), and I enjoyed the Cadillac dealer experience a lot more than anything I got at Hyundai. I don't have the V8 growl and gobs of torque and ventilated seats, but I'm happy. Will take another look at a Genesis the next time I'm shopping for a new car. The newest ones are pretty amazing.

it's amazing that they gave you $20k for your 2012.
how many miles were on it?

It had 38,059 miles and this dealer had performed all the service. We also park in handicap and did not have any door dings, etc., only two stone chips in front.

Looking to purchase a NEW '14 R-spec 5.0.

Was quoted $42,000 OTD (car, tax, admin fee) + option of purchasing HPP Platinum VSC plan for $~1,650.

Is this a good/fair price?

Too high from what had been posted in the forum. Others got 38k out the door. Assume they did not get platinum 100/10yr.. Add $1200-1400 max for the warranty. Did you get the key fob extended/lost warranty and towing services too?

So, paying too much based on the other stories. There is a white 14 R-Spec new at my dealer if you have a interest.

Thanks for the feedback DRS.

I didn't include all the details, but the OTD price includes the dealership buying out my current leased car (~$4,000 in negative equity ATM). I know it's not apples-to-apples comparison.

In other words, list price is $39k. I get out of my lease without any negative equity added to the list price. Extended HPP is extra on top of the OTD price.

*** Update: I got the HPP Platinum 10/100/0 price down to $1380. ***

Good job. Bet you are happy.

Finally made a purchase 2012 3.8 platinum/black 43k miles. Was asking 23k got them to agree to 23k out the door, plus platinum warranty. They wouldn't budge on the warranty, says it was state regulated. I got the same quoted price for another 2012 4.6. I didn't really argue it since i just wanted to leave with the car covered.
