  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Ok.. it's crunch time now....
The lease on my M45 is due next month.....

Here's the situation

I plan to buy the car....

I was offered a V8 with tech for 40,000....

A friend has a 3007 LS460 in excellent condition..(and it really is)
every option pretty much except the self parking...(useless anyway)
34,000 miles....

$40,000

so the question is, for the same price.....

The Genesis V8

or take the 2 1/2 year old LS460.....

The LS460 is a beauty. The real question in this situation is if you are willing to give up the warranty sooner on the Lexus. In your situation, I would not.

The Genesis is a great car but the $40K LS460 is a better deal with the low mileage you note.

I'd take the "3007" Lexus in a heartbeat. ;) Not that I anticipate having issues with my Hyundai, but the Lexus is a proven machine and for that price, w/low mileage is a steal in my opinion. I would ask the owner, friend or foe, to allow me to have the vehicle inspected at an authorized Lexus dealership. Unless they provide every single maintenance record. Even though we are talking close friends, in the end it is still 40K!

If anyone has access to USAA "car search" function.
They are pricing 3.8 with Tech at ~36,000 final. (no taxes and other stuff)

Last I pulled an APP quote, it was 37336 + the destination charge of 750. It is a nice hassle-free way to get a good pricing, however you can often times haggle even under that price.

This is the current APP structure:

Dealer Invoice
Less 2% of MSRP
Less Current Consumer Rebate (if any)
Less Advertising Fee
Plus Freight

Happy Hunting!

Just leased my second Genesis, think I did well with this deal.

2010 Platinum 4.6 with Tech Package

15000 miles 36 month lease
$482 monthly tax included
$1800 out of pocket

Really like the difference of the V8 and the Tech package. My last Genesis was a V6 with Premium Plus

There should be no discussion about the price given by USAA. If the dealer does not honor that price USAA quotes you, they want to hear about it.

2009 V6,18,455 miles--Blue--traded a 2006 Azera Limited---final price with trade--$12,500.00

I just bought a 2011 4.6 which listed at $43850.00 for $39500.00.This includes a $250.00 rebate. I bought the car in north Florida. There is a dealer in St. Pete Fl advertising $38,000.00 but I don't know anything about the dealer.

Date: 11/13/10

Model: 3.8 Tech (Titanium/Black)

MSRP: $41835 (including destination)

Invoice: $39197

Price before rebate: $37928

Out the door: $36428 (includes $1500 competitive buyer rebate, not tax/tag)

2011 3.8 with Tech and Nav (and iPod cable)

List: $41,835

Out the door: $40,000 cash (includes 6.25% sales tax and everything else)

The $1500 competitive rebate (current BMW owner) was assigned back to dealer - I feel a little cheated on this as they didn't tell me I qualified for it until we struck the deal at $40,000. My fault, though.

Hi,

On October 15, I bought a 2010 4.6 with tech, cab red/saddle. Sticker $43385 (ipod cable, etc). The car was a "demo" with 14,216 miles. I paid $28,406. I also traded my 2001 Avalon (156,000 miles). I got $2500 for that car, making my final cost out of pocket $25906, plus tax and fees. I'm in New Jersey.

What do you think? In any event, it wouldn't be a good deal if I didn't like the car, but so far I'm loving life...
