If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello All,
I am purchasing a used 2015 Genesis 3.8 Ultimate in a week and i've been to many dealerships. I'm wondering why all the dealers are so stuck on their price, not willing to move a dollar for the sale. Is there something I am missing or it's just such a high demand for these beauties?

There should be some coming off lease. They do have a minimum from the lease but I have no idea what markup is added to it. The 2019s are slow coming out and not a bunch of 2018 so that may be a factor.
You don't give a price example so we have no idea if it is a fair price or not.

I just purchased my '15 10 days ago.

I cast a *wide* net, within ~250 miles of where I live because I was willing to travel to find an AWD Ultimate and I wanted to maximize my value. What I found anecdotally was that similar Trim and Similar mileage vehicles were $1500-$3000 cheaper in some markets than in mine. The one I purchased had just had a price drop, and I was able to get another $400 off and have them swap the rear Hyundai badge for wings. I was also able to get the HPP Platinum 10/100k warranty at *cost*, or under $1500.

Given that I was able to save a couple grand versus buying locally I was comfortable paying near their asking price.

Yeah, I have cast a 300 miles radius, but getting pretty much the same prices. I guess that is there bottom price since there are not a lot of them out there

Sounds about what others are paying. When I traded in my 2015 AWD Ultimate they gave me 27k and put it on the lot for 29k.

We always expect to pay less than asked on a car, but it is not excessive compared to others.

I work at a dealership now. When they come off lease we have the opportunity to buy them from the bank and the bank gives us an offer an we can either counter offer or accept. I have a 15 tech package awd I got with 46k miles for around 22-23k before taxes I believe.

I bought at $26200 after the "lease reconditioning fee" for a '15 Ultimate w/ 27500 miles. Some of the '15 Ultimates in my market are 29k+, and there was a '15 Signature with 27k miles for $28500. There aren't a ton of the Ultimates out there, so when you see one you want and are comfortable with the price you have to move. It comes down to whether or not you want to try and work hard for that last $500-$1000 savings.

Great. That makes me more comfortable for sure. That's a great trade in value

Found one for $25,770 '15 35k miles with Ultimate Package, so based on your information and others in this forum, i'm gonna take it. Thanks so much for the info. Losing the right color combo with the miles to haggle $500 not worth it at all.

In FL I paid $26,450 for a CPO Parisian Gray/black 5.0 Tech pkg back in late July with 27,500 miles. I got them to come down a couple thousand and then also got a little more for my trade. Sedans are not a hot seller right now, so I was able to take advantage of that. So few 5.0s running around, it's a fairly rare car IMO. My 3 month subscription for XM and Bluelink just ran out so I re-upped those two days ago. Good car except the few issues I've documented here.

Very late post update, but I have purchased my baby for $25,777. 2015 Ultimate Package CPO Parisian Gray/Black with 35,901. No movement on the price but as I said earlier, wasn't gonna haggle and miss the car color combo that I wanted. It drives like a dream20181120_140439.webp20181120_140457.webp

best color combo by far in my opinion

I am amazed how expensive these 2015 Genesis are in the U.S compared to Canada. I bought my 2016 3.8 AWD Luxury with 10900 Kilometers in January this year for $31000 including all taxes & fee from the local Hyundai Dealer in Calgary. Love the car!

Good looking car!
I am almost 4 weeks into my 2016 AWD w/Ultimate, 22,800 miles - and love it!
Was very happy with $26,580 and the amount I got over payoff on my trade. They wanted to get rid of this car!
(Dealer had it at $32,000+ for almost 3 months. I started negotiating and got the previous owner info after him authorizing the dealer to give to me. Found out they gave him $24,000 on trade and that was the info I needed to make a 'reasonable' offer. Knowledge is power:)
Best car/car buying experience in 22 years driving.

Not certified, but I am buying the Easy Care Total Care warranty today - 120,000 mile total and 72 months from today. Covers all the electronics including factory installed sensors and radar guidance equipment. That is running $2079 + 6% tax.

Sweet deal, that was great negotiating for sure, I love mine the same. I would have been sick had I not got the ultimate package and got a basic to save money. The options are incredible.

I agree.
I used Waze via Sync 3 and Android Auto in my last car and thought I'd miss it... I don't!

Bought a 16 Genesis black/beige 3.8 awd ultimate CPO with 27,000 miles late November 2018 for $28,300. Dealer performed 30,000 service and put on new Michelins. Got excellent trade in for my 2018 Legacy 3.6r fully loaded, 10k miles. Dealer very easy to deal with. Very happy with car. Much more stable on the highway than my Legacy.
