  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is there a way to just turn the engine off and leave the car in accessory mode to listen to the radio? For example, you get to your destination but have some time to kill, is there a way to turn the engine off with out turning the whole car off then turning it back it back on to accessory mode?

No. The actual runtime is dictated by voltage to some extent so if the is in poor condition your delay can be quite short. **** viglink battery

of course,

press the start button to turn of the car

with foot off the brake, press the start button once, and that puts you into ACC mode Radio only.

if you press the start button twice then AC, Windows, Sunroof, will work.

unlike a keyed ignition you can't tip the key back to ACC, you have to power off then back on, however if you don't open the drivers door then it should turn off motor and maintain the power if you do the push button dance quickly enough, I do it every day waiting for my kid when I pick her up from school.

only thing I will caution, is that the system will start alerting you to power drain after 5 minutes and then every 2 minutes thereafter. I've gone 30 minutes without an issue restarting the car, but I wouldn't push it, restarting the car every 10-15 minutes is probably wise to charge the battery.
