So there are some reports of the '09 and (possibly other) model Genesis getting this error where they just won't start and/or do anything when the button is pushed. The dashboard, accessories, etc. won't turn on at all, nor will anything else happen.
I had this issue intermittently (maybe 3-4 times?) in 6 years of ownership, it always resolved itself. Until it didn't. This time, I did some reading, and concluded it was probably the power distribution module (PDM), part number 954603M200. So I got a new one, and plugged it in.
Strangely, it puts the car into ACC mode (equivalent to a single press of the start button with no foot on brake or any other interaction) without any intervention at all. It trips the ACC relay (I can hear the click) and the head unit comes on but I can neither a) start the car with the push button or b) turn the car off with the push button. I have to unplug the PDM to turn the head unit and other accessories off.
I have verified that the relays and fuses are all functional... any body have further experience with this issue?
