  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is there a safety feature on the push start button that if the remote isn't near the car, it will automatically shut its self off.

Any truth to this statement

Not true. You can start the car with the remote in the car, throw the remote out the window and drive off - and keep driving.
When you eventually shut the car off (or run out of gas :p), you will not be able to start it again without the remote.

We went out the other night and I forgot my "key" in my jeans pocket. We didn't even realize it because my wife had her's in her pocketbook. When we got home she got out to go to the house while I was going to park the coupe in the garage. When she got a few steps away from the car an alarm I'd never heard before went off and when I looked at the dash a warning was flashing on the message panel about the key not being in the car. I called to her and she walked back to the car and the light went out.

The car continued to run even with the warning alarm and light on and I parked it in the garage.

yeah I fooled around with this feature the other day. since I always let my car idle for a little after sitting overnight, I walked from my garage (separate from the house) to my living room (which is on the other side) and walked back to the car. still idling.

I did test the proximity of it though to unlock the doors. you basically have to be right next to it to unlock them, that made me feel a little better.
