  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I must disconnect my battery for four months, will this cause problems when I reconnect in the spring..Any tips for winter storage would be appreciated.I have a Genesis 2015 ultimate v8 with 90,000 km,like new.Thanks.

Change the oil.
Put a trickle charger on the battery.
Put a gasoline preservative in the fuel tank and fill to the top.
Raise the air pressure on the tires to the maximun rating on the tire sidewall.
Close all windows.

Thank you siberma for your quick response. There is no electric outlet available that is why I would like to know if desconnecting battery would create a problem because of all the tech gadgets in the car.I had a 2014 chrysler 300 c before and desconnecting the battery was not a problem at all.The computers were up and running in one minute after connecting battery.

I'd remove the battery and perhaps put it in the basement with the tender on it. If it is the original battery I'd not worry too much about it and put a new one in come spring.
