  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

For those of you that have a Genesis in the new Sapphire Blue color, do you find that it is difficult or requires more effort to keep it clean, sort of like a black car? I've been leaning toward the Titanium Gray, except that it is not available in the cashmere interior. I'm concerned that the black interior would be too hot in summer, and I just haven't been able to warm up to the saddle interior based on photos. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Although mine is not Sapphire Blue (almost Black), you can bet your bippie that Sapphire Blue is as hard to keep clean, and as hard to hide scratches, as the Black.

I have the Champagne [Gold] which is very easy to keep "clean" and it also hides scratches.

When I first was looking at Genesis', I wanted a White. Now that I've seen the Sterling Blue (not Sapphire but Sterling), I love it and I'm keeping my eye out for a pre-owned Sterling Blue 4.6. Hard to find in the 4.6.

Don't know where you live, but I'm in south Georgia and have black interiors in both cars. It doesn't both me. You will find dark reds and dark blues to be just a hard as black to maintain. That doesn't seem to apply to dark grey IMO. Mine are kept in a garage so having black is not a big deal. Even without a garage I'd probably have a dark color. When I bought mine the dealer only had black and light blue. I'm partial to black. That's the only color I've had since 2003.

Mine is saphire blue met. and its pretty hard to keep clean. I do find that I have to wash it much more than some other colors I have owned. Its ok with me though.....just more bonding time between me and my Genny! I do make the little kids wash their finger prints off the doors in the hopes that they will stop touching them all the time!!!! I think they are dreaming about the day I will pass it off two them.....NOT!!!!! Saphire Blue Met. does look great though when its all shined up! Better than black I think!

The interior colors work well for me. I like the contrast between the black and tan. Never had climate issues with the darker interior but then again I do live in SD where its cold as the moon for 7 months out of the year.

My 2003 Mercury Marauder was Black, (as was my 1973 Pontiac Grand-Am).

Never again will I buy a Black Car. NEVER!!!!

I love the way black (and dark blue) cars look. There's a black Genesis that's sometimes parked in the garage where I work, and it looks great.

But my wife's last car was a black Honda Accord. It looked good for about one day after a wash. As it got older, swirls and scratches were always obvious.

In my experience, silver and grey cars are the easiest colors to keep looking clean - I've had three of them. But I don't know what I'll choose for my next one, hopefully a Genesis, since I'd like something different this time.
