  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
2G Genesis Sedan (2015-2016)
I own a 2015 3.8 sedan. I have just over 30,000 miles and i've had two electrical problems, the upper brake light and left turn signal light. You would think that these would be easy fixes. They turned out to be major issues where my car was kept for 4 weeks for the first time and almot 5 weeks the second time. It was my opinion that the dealership did not have qualified technicians due to all of the new technology in the car. Has anyone else had electrical problems and experienced the same repair problems?

That is a long time — did the repair shop offer a loaner or rental?

I had my car in for service and the “map update” disc was faulty. Seemed like something they would have a backup for. I think these issues are just growing pains. They aren’t my ‘05 Chevy Suburban for sure!

I can agree with the growing pains statement. All dealerships are going to have to be sure that all of their technicians are certified to service them. I think the move now to Genesis dealerships will address that

It is an industry problem. Technology is advancing faster than the guys that work on them. The tech that knows carburetors and transmissions is less comfortable with diodes and relays. We need less graduates with masters degrees in Greek philosophy and millions in student loans and more with auto technology skills.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I agree with Ed about it being an industry problem, however in addition from my POV Hyundai has a parts supply problem a well, any work if have had done has resulted in parts back order issues ranging from days to several weeks.

I can understand the dealers not having much on hand as they did not know if they would be servicing Genesis, but that is pretty much over. In any event, parts should be in a US based warehouse across the street from a FedEx terminal. Order today, delivered tomorrow.
