  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey all!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Gen as much as I am.

I have decided to drop my tire pressure to 30 PSI, which is 3 below recommended. This makes the ride much less bouncy i find. But I am not sure if it will affect tread life. Thoughts?

Also, i recently noticed that evenwith the a/c light off the air coming out of the vents are quite cold, much colder than ambient air. It is not on Auto, for those that are wondering. So I am thinking is something wrong with my a/c?

Oh and has anyone purchased the white pearl touch-up paint? Mine comes out as silver, much more close to the colour of the alloys than the body paint. Normal? or a mess-up!

Thanks!

Cheers,

Oppiee

Regarding the cold air coming out of the vents...
One thing I noticed is when you use auto mode then unclick it, it will still leave the AC on even if the ac light is off.
Had the same problem with the Azera.

When AUTO is off...what you need to do is hit the ac button twice (it will come on and then the 2nd push will shut it off). It will then remain off till you either hit the ac button on or use the AUTO feature.

This is why I never use the AUTO button. I just set the ac on and put it at the temperature I want...period.

I'm a HUGE fan of "auto".

My pearl touch up pen is a white color... not silver or metallic. Shake it up really well. Also, what color code is on the pen?

Getting back to the topic

Lowering air pressure can improve ride but watch tire wear as the edges may show wear more quickly than the center tread. If it occurs it will shorten tire life.

30 is about as low as you should go - it will "soften the tire" for ride and handling. Pay attention to the treadwear and look for any stress tears at the sidewall - if you see them your pressure is too low.

Are you turning off the AC and then feeling the air? Might be cold air still working its ay through the system. Also, could be convection, or the active dehumidity system in the car - maybe that is always on.

Shake the paint well before using; the flake will separate from the heavier pigment in a metallic paint if it sits.

Thanks to everyone for the responses (or those that did give proper responses).

I will definitely check the tire regarding wear and stress marks on the tire wall. I hope it doesn't do any harm.

I will continue to play with the a/c and see if it does that from start with it off.

Also, the paint has been shaken quite well. I contacted my dealer and will get it checked.

I will keep you guys posted.

Thanks.

cheers,
