  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am curious about the final drive ratio of the 4.6 V8 sedan.

What is the ratio?

Can it be changed, to apply greater torque to the rear wheels?

what is the maker of the final drive?

about how much $$$$ am I looking at?

any input would be greatly appreciated. I've searched the net/web and have found nothing.....:D

Do the moldings on the back bumper come painted to match you car or do you have to have them painted?

Fiat

The V6 has about a 3.9 rear axle ratio and if it fit the case would give you the desired effect. The caveat is however that your speedometer would read about 25% fast and because of the limited aftermarket support, the electronics would not be able to be reprogrammed to correct the error. This also means mileage accumulates at the rate of 1.25 miles for every actual mile driven and warranty ends at about 80k miles instead of 100k if the gear change doesn't end it first.

That would be anyone's guess. Since the aftermarket is virtually nonexistent, you would be covering uncharted territory. You are probably the only person to even consider it. It would seem that there is no end of cars not in short supply that are far easier and cheaper to go fast in. Personally, I can go faster for less money in my El Camino but I would not even consider it over my Genesis for a long trip. If I want to go even faster I hop on that 2300cc monster Triumph Rocket III.
