  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Im currently looking at a 2015 genesis, tech pkg. Lease turn in and getting the CPO wrap. NE ohio for 26k including the wrap and it had 39k miles. Beautiful looking car. Should i hold out and look for an ultimate w/awd? Does anyone have any regrets not getting the ultimate? Is there any maintenance issues i should be looking for specifically? Thanks to the forum for any replies.

I take it you're looking at a 3.8 and not a 5.0.
Personally, if I lived in an area that gets snow, I'd look for an AWD. And that can't be had on a 2015 5.0
As to tech vs ultimate pkgs, you gain & lose with either. If you go ultimate, you lose Apple Car Play/Android Auto. If you go tech, you lose the wood trim, heads up display, CO2 sensor, power trunk lid, 17 speaker sound system ( you'd get 14 speakers ) 9.2" display ( you'd get 8" ).
Your call on what features matter to you. But shopping used, I grab the 1st nice one ( tech or ultimate ) that had the AWD.

Yea im looking solely at the 3.8. We get allot of snow here. I like the matte trim ive seen in pictures. Screen size is whatever. Almost irrelevant really. Whats the non ultimate sound like, ive read differing opinions on here.

tuckerdog1, we (I live in NE Ohio too) have been lucky in the last couple of winters. We are due for one with a lot more snow. I too would vote for a version with AWD.

im sorry but idk if my calculations are wrong or what but isnt 26k too much i think 22-23 is more reasonable for a 15 tech rwd

Its 26k with the cpo wrap and it awd. Is that still high?

im sorry I didnt know it was awd so thats better but can you tell me what does that wrap mean? if its a warranty or something than Id say its a good price

CPO wrap is offered by hyundai and adds bumper to bumper warranty to 10/100k miles. Price is 2500 bucks but people have said they have gottten the platinum wrap for 1500.

I say go for it if your hearts set on that car, max is a few hundred dollar difference if you go on a search for the best price. just get that one if u like it

Went there today. We ended up being 3k off the price. They wouldn’t negotiate the cpo wrap cost and my turn-in. Disappointing sure but with some many 2015s abput to come off leases ill continue to look for the right deal.

Yea, I would wait, these cars flood the streets. The Gen 1s are taking over my small town, cause they are still great cars at a really affordable price.

I just happen to see my come on autotrade and went and looked at it, it really did have 9k miles on it and the guy told me it was a ultimate edition and awd so good enough.

Just keep looking, you will find the right one.

Get the Ultimate. And around Cleveland, you'll be luck to see a G2 once a month. HUD is the bomb....don't settle for anything less on a used Genesis.

Keep forgetting about the HUD it is really nice to have, and the DIS control is way better that just touch, I don't care about apple car play or android auto stuff.

I have been going back and forth between apple car play and the HUD. Trying to figure out which one i would realistically use more 🤔

Go test drive one with the HUD its pretty cool, I always have my music organized on a usb stick, never had a good streaming experience with a phone.

FWIW, concerning Apple car play, the Google maps app is nice in that it offers current traffic conditions.

Sirius XM offers traffic conditions as well. It worked quite nicely to bypass traffic when I used it.

mileage is too high for my taste....on the plus side you get android auto and car play which is not available on the ultimate (think google assistant, maps, waze, spotify, pandora...etc) ...one of the reasons besides price i went with tech.
