  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Question on Color Combination

I've been lurking here for quite a while and have driven the 3.8 a few times at a few dealerships. Yesterday I was finally able to drive a 4.6 (two hour drive to the dealership) and I'm set on picking one up. I do have a couple of questions though.

First (question for any dealers on here), I got into a slight argument with the sales manager at the dealership regarding the "Dealer Vehicle Locator". I'm looking for a 4.6 Titanium Gray/Saddle. When he selected the drop-down, that combination wasn't there, so he said it won't be available in that combination. After going back and forth (Hyundai's website has the option to choose that color combination), he got on the phone with District and found out that the combination is still on the sheets, but he still insisted that the Vehicle Locator will always show all combinations even if there's no stock. Finally, I asked him about the white combinations since they were also not on the list. I asked him to look up 3.8's and both the white combinations were there as well as my combination (Gray/Saddle). My question is regarding the Hyundai Vehicle Locator. Does it self-populate the colors based on what's currently available in the US, or is there some other reason that the white combos and the gray/saddle combo do not show up when searching for 4.6's?

Secondly, would Hyundai have a color combination availble for the 3.8 but not for the 4.6? Could they actually decide to come out with Gray/Saddle in the 3.8 but not for the 4.6? I suspect that the issue is just current lack of availability, but I wanted to verify that before waiting for or attempting to order my color combo.

Lastly, I'm on the NW Florida panhandle. It seems this area is severely limited in stock, and potentially limited in quality dealerships. Does anyone have a recommendation on a dealership in this area? 200 miles would get me most of southern Alabama and even over to Slidell, LA, so I can cover a good bit of area if I needed to.

Thanks!

Maybe a little farther than you want to go, but I'm a happy camper with my guy here in St. Pete.

The benefit would be the larger market selection. There are 4 dealers within 25mi which you could compare against each other. [Bradenton, St. Pete, Tampa & Clearwater]

Well, I guess I could always turn it into a mini trip. :) I believe we actually have a direct flight to Tampa from here.

I live in the central west coast of Florida and I contacted nine dealers in my area. I agree that Crown is very professional however I ended up liking Jenkins Hyundai a little better, they are just south of St Pete in Bradenton FL. I contacted Raymond Hellman 941-747 9262 ext 210. He did not play any of the games that many of the other dealerships are playing...a very straight shooter. One dealership I would run the other way from is Gettel Hyundai in Sarasota. They treat you like your buying a KIA! Just my 2 cents worth.

Agree on Jenkins Hyundai. Very professional. Selected by USAA as their dealer of choice in this area. Unfortunately, when I bought, there was no USAA pricing available. Crown was the closest. :)
