  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi guys I am hoping somebody can help me with some questions I have about the JB4 tuner. I bought it from another member for my 2.0 T 2019 G70. My question is do I need the OBD II cable it says it is optional but what does it give you extra if you get it. Second question is I am in Colorado so I can only run 91 octane that's the highest thats readily available so I think I can only use map 1 map 2 would be a no go I am assuming because you need 93 octane my question is can I do some of the ethanol mixes like E30 E40 without adding additional parts to the car I know I need to do spark plugs which I will but other than that is there anything else that needs to be done to run some ethanol mixes. I am assuming that if I do the ethanol mixes I do have to connect one of the fuel wires to the oxygen sensor. Lastly the person I brought this from says it was on a 2.0 T but there are no markings on the JB4 module, are there are 2 different modules for the 3.3 T and the 2.0 T or are they the same I just do not want to install one that was made for the 3.3 T in case the person I brought it from was not telling the truth please help thank you.

The OBD cable gives you real-time data logging and safety features like over-boost protection. It’s highly recommended, not optional.
With 91 octane, stick to Map 1. Don't try Map 2.

For ethanol mixes like E30, you must tap the fuel pressure sensor wire (not O2 sensor) and have the flex fuel kit. You can't run ethanol blends safely without it.
The JB4 unit itself is the same for the 2.0T and 3.3T. The difference is the wiring harness. Check the connectors match your engine's sensors.
You should also get new spark plugs gapped to 0.022" before tuning.

This is my set up not sure if this is for the 3.3 T or the 2.0T I have the 2.0T and bought this from someone off of a facebook group. Is there a way to know which model this one is for? It has 2 wires aren't those the wires for the O2 sensor? Will the connectors not match if they are made for a different Genesis model? Thank you for your help.

Pretty sure it's the same for the 2.0T and 3.3T, as when you go to burgertuning.com and try to buy a new one you're not asked what engine you have between those 2 (The SmartStream 1.6, 2.5, and 3.5 are not the same and don't use the 3.3T JB4.) For the 2.0T you wouldn't use all of the plugs in the harness.

Thank you for your response from what I can tell I use all plugs except the shorter o2 sensor or EWG I think they call it wire the longer I do use. Does this sound correct?

Hey guys I have a quick question before I install the JB4 on my 2.0T G70. I recently changed the spark plugs to the OEM ones about 3000 miles ago or so. Can I run map 1 and any of the e85 mix maps or should i change the plugs? I won't run map 2 since i don't have 93 octane available where I am please let me know thank you.

You should be able to run Map 1, if there is an issue you can regap plugs to 28 to 22 thousandths.

What about the other e85 mix maps? can i run those without doing plugs or should i upgrade them.

I would not run the stock plugs with e85
