  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

first of all i love my R-spec 5.0 but do have some questions. I know on my other cars i can see the oil pressure and battery guage on the dash, i dont see it there and not sure how to get it. secondly my car settings on the screen only works if i leave the key plugged in for a while, is that normal. it just seems there are not a lot of options involved on the nav screen with this car. does it have tire pressure guage reading?

I don't believe there are any readings for oil pressure or the battery. The car has a TPMS system which will illuminate the dash on whatever tire is low, however it will not give out PSI information per tire. Hope this helps.

Question - when you say car settings with the key, can you elaborate? What settings can you not change without inserting the key?

Thanks

Oil pressure, oil temp, voltage. Grab an odb2 blutooth dongle and pair it with your phone. The car doesnt have those features.the car was made to run with cruisers. People who own them have no need for those or other similar items. Sucks but thats how it is. Heck cant even recalibrate tpms to a different psi.

I noticed that too with the nav , it should have more config options. What was your previous car ? Ill be doing a write up next week,, absolutely nothing new for the vets here should be interesting to see how my fellow bmw owners take it

old car was 06 charger daytona gomango, with mods. it was a muscle car, sounded like one, had more torque. But this one is faster stock old one had 350hp after mods was around 400+ guess as i was around 325 rwhp. thinking of doing the cutouts that are in another post so i can have that growl when i want it.

If you want to know all that kind of info, you can buy this http://www.scangauge.com/ and plug it into your OBD II connector. Anything the car's computer system monitors can be read out.

One word of caution on oil pressure, many cars today (even if a gauge is present) just use a switch that turns on the gauge when the oil pressure reaches a certain pressure (around 10 psi)----------------which really makes the gauge and idiot gauge.
