  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Potential future buyer here and I wanted to confirm/ask three things about the V-6 Ultimate Pkg:

1. There are no LED DRLs on this car (at least not in Auto mode).

2. There are no (known) plans for Hyundai to support Android Auto/Apple CarPlay in the car.

3. When Bluetooth streaming from an Android phone, does track metadata show on the touch screen? I have a Note 4 and my 2013 Azera doesn't show any info other than the phone being connected and streaming.

Thanks in advance for any responses!

1. Correct
2. Also correct. There have been some rumors but nothing official.
3. Nope, track name and streaming only, just like the Azera.

Thanks, bummer on all three of those. In the Azera I don't even get the track name.

Hard to believe the Sonata actually trumps the Genesis in these areas and it's only 6 months newer.

1. There is a yellow light DRL, im changing it to a white LED. :)
2. I hope it does. But no one knows for sure.
3. I just put all my music on a USB drive and move them over to the onboard HD. :)

Yeah this is a good idea. Now if they could just provide an option to increase the size of the internal drive to 128GB, then we'd be in business.

I actually copied about 20G of music over from my USB key, and reloaded the key with more music. The problem is not the size, but the fact that it seems to cap at 6000 tracks. With 4000 on the internal drive and 5500 on the key I have something I feel like listening to around all the time. What I copied to the drive is all the timeless albums/bands that I have listened to for years, and the key can be refreshed frequently with new things.

As for what is shown from bluetooth, for Poweramp/spotify/tidal/etc it shows band/track/album, etc. No cover art. For Pandora it shows a full interface including art and thumbs.

3. When I stream from Google Music, it shows all info. Artist, Song Title and Album name

Interesting. I use Rocket Player for its ability to sync my iTunes smart playlists onto Android. Maybe a different Android music app would work on my Azera.

Fail. Tried Poweramp, Google Play Music, and Samsung's music app, all to no avail. Must be a limitation of the Azera to not display metadata.

Backing up a few posts to where mention was made about changing the amber DRL bulbs to white we need to remember that those amber DRL's are also used as our turn indicators. Changing out the amber bulbs for white bulbs means that your front turn indicators will also be white which [I believe] is a DOT 'no, no'.
Seems that Hyundai US did a last minute (Mickey Mouse) DRL package to keep everyone that likes DRLs happy (DRLs are not law in the states like they are in Canada and parts of Europe). Is there a way to disable our DRLs that doesn't loose the turn indicators?

If you keep the headlight switch in the OFF position, it'll turn the DRLs off. However, you'll also lose your auto headlights.

I picked up my Genesis last saturday and the manager told me apple play app should be available soon. I asked how i would know and he said if you have blue link it will automatically download if not you may need to take it into the dealership to have it downloaded.

He didnt specify a exact time but he said possibly within next month or two.

While I hope the manager knows what he's talking about, I wouldn't put a lot of credibility into it. Even if he didn't have an agenda, the likelihood that he knows what he's talking about is low.

Right up there with winning the lottery or getting struck by lightning. A long history of buying cars has shown me that the informed buyer usually knows 10 times as much as any manager.

That's what I was thinking since Iv been looking at this car for months before I got it and would think it'd be posted somewhere if that was true and I would know something about it. I still need my blue link activated I called and they said the dealer still needs to do something even tho when I click it says call to activate >.<

My dislike of amber DRLs is not great enough for me to shut off the 'auto light' function - which I actually knew about. Thanks for mentioning it for those that were not aware of that option :).
I was more interested in finding a way to keep 'auto light' on but with the DRLs off. For that to happen I think a bit of programming would need to be in my future (not something available with my skill levels  ). Thanks again.

I find I have to turn auto off before shutting off (or starting) for the day. Because when pulling into the garage, it flips on the HID for short time, no warm up. Which I have read shortens their life. There also is a thread about that. And it discusses the adjustable hood in the system that does the adjusting for the high beams. Found that thread interesting.

Have you guys found the auto high beam feature? I did not yet read about it in the manual. Found by accident. It is nifty and reminds me of my old Caddy(s) (or my dads). Turns on and off the high beam shutter depending on street lights, oncoming cars, and highway driving. Just noticed it. Still has hard on high beam setting and flash to pass..

And I like the easy on easy off DRL. Can drive both in stealth less cop observed mode and "pay attention" mode with those wonk cross traffic pull out in front of us people. And the yellow distinguishes us from other DRL. Which I experience the yellow as cool.
