  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Being lazy and not wanting to comb through an abundance of un-related threads can you all chime in and give me a quick overview of what is available upgrades for my 2013 5.0 R-spec sedan?

You guys are the experts and I am sure have done some trial and error on performance mods, so I was just hoping for a list of what everyone likes best?

Quick answer...
There are none. Really

Longer answer
Sprint Booster - no performance mods
High flow air filter
BTR tune - good luck finding one
Lightweight pulleys - still (years later) in design phase
Lightweight wheels

So no, exhaust mods? Not any air intake? Just a better filter and open the flap in the box?

This might be the first car I don't end up putting a ton of money into.

Yes, they've been done. Try a search.

Try reading the first post. thanks for your input it was helpful.
You're welcome, glad I could help. I read and comprehended the first post. I'm also too lazy to look for you though.

Then no need to respond. When you are at a restaurant and someone asks a waiter for something, do you feel the need to tell them you can't get them what you are asking for or do you ignore them because you cant help? When people ask for volunteers at a show or event do you raise your hand to tell them you are not interested in helping? Your reply directly contradicted the first post and I think you thought it would be funny or you were looking to add to your post count.

If nobody had a response I would be left to search, however some people are helpful and willing to take a few moments to offer their help. NSXNext was very helpful and is appreciated.

Well, I did tell you people modified their exhaust. You asked, I answered.

Hi Michael,
I also have a '13 Rspec and did some research, not that it gives a lot of news.
You can either delete the secondary cat's or get a magnaflow exhaust, will give you a slight increase.
There are some cold air intakes around, debatable whether they are better than factory since they sit in the hot engine bay. I just removed one magnet from the air flap for better flow and K&N filters.
There is an eu/tcu tune available. There is a canned tune that seemed to have been hit or miss. There is also a Canadian company in Toronto that has a custom tune event once a year. www.10fintec.com not cheap though and limited results. They also have the canned tune available.
There is also pedal commander/sprint booster which just modifies the drive by wire response, so can get up to full throttle with a light push of the pedal. Not a performance increase, just throttle response.

Magnaflow makes a catback for the 2013 RSpec
Performance gains are not great for a $1000 exhaust
Go with lightweight wheels and stickier tires

Pretty much everything is cosmetic, and most of the good stuff is available from the forum store (button at the top of the page). The very little gross margin $ Sal makes from sales support this site... so more or less not-for-profit, IMO.

There are zero dyno-proven performance mods available currently. There was a suspension lowering kit available from Garcia Factory in Korea a long time ago, not sure if you can still get them. Exhaust mods are for sound only. Nobody makes headers.

Honestly the best performance "mod" you can do to a 2013 RSPEC is to walnut-shell blast the intake side of the heads, replace the plugs and coils with OEM. Probably 10-20 horsepower right there. Use top-tier 93 (R+M)/2 octane gasoline for another 5% power increase from the factory tune. Yes, you heard me, there is a "no hardware" mod available at every gas pump!

This car taught me to just DIY everything I wanted for the car since, as you're finding out there isn't shit really for after market both performance and rice.. I'm a 3.8 but in my signature its lists off a decent amount of what's available fr the BH platform.
*DISCLAIMER* The DIY route does require extensive amounts of research and a lot of personal man hours.
