  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Quick help...Jack Points?

Side of car. Behind front wheels and in front of rear wheels. Look for two notches on the pinch welds. I have not jacked the car from the front or rear as there's just too much plastic covering everything and too lazy to remove it to find a solid jack point.

^ The pinch welds for the front is correct. The entire rear can be lifted at one time by placing the jack on the rear diff or "pumpkin" if you will.

Ah excellent point. This is my first RWD car so it's definitely new to me.

The front is all shrouded with plastic so the standard jack points are probably your best bet.

But if you have only 1 jack and a jack-stand...you could jack the rear and put the jack stand under a point where the swing arms bolt to the sub-frame and then jack up the front. That's usually how I like to do it when I rotate my own tires since they're relatively close to the edges for putting the jack-stands under the car and can get 1 whole side off the ground.

Of course you could always jack your car the way I do mine with a little Southern engineering.:D

In case you didn’t know, in the south we believe in faster cars, younger women and older whiskey. :)

Just "jacking" around with you, at almost 70, I just got tired of crawling around on the floor to work on my cars, so I bought this lift for my birthday (instead of socks that my family always seems to provide me with). My wife still can’t figure out why I wanted this in my garage, but then again unless a woman is into too cars they can’t see any value in something like this.

She said “why would you want to do all of this stuff, when you can take the car to the dealers and have a Latté or Cappuccino, relax while reading the paper or a book while they craw around under the dirty side of the car”?

I guess for the same reason I wouldn’t spend hours in the beauty pallor or spa.

Woah...Southern Boy...your garage/that lift is pretty awesome!

Unfortunately I've only got a 1 car garage and have to store my son's power wheel ON TOP of my car if I put it in LOL:D:o

thanks guys was able to get them on with ease. 18 inch work wheels. look a bit tiny especially with the wheel gap but they were left over from my lexus GS and offsets seem to look even better on the hyundai. will look into lowering springs soon.
