  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

hey gang,

recently i've noticed that on my car it sometimes takes two or even three presses on the window switches before the pertinent window will start to go down. doesn't seem to matter which window i choose to roll down. i'm noticing this when using the controls on the driver's door. not sure if the switches on the other doors act similarly. anyway, never noticed this behavior until recently. wondering if the cold temps have something to do with it? anybody else notice similar??

It's been cold here for the last few weeks and I haven't noticed anything odd.

I've never had a problem with the window switches and have been through one very cold winter already!

No issues with mine here in South Florida...

hummm...don't know what to think of this then. i guess a module/switch or something is acting up. wonder if eventually whatever is causing the intermittent issue will die leaving the windows motionless. :-(

I've had this but only on the back windows and only a couple times. Not sure if it is a real problem or if I'm just not pressing the button far enough. I just know I have hit the rear window switches before and have thought "hey nothing is happening" and then have to hit them again a time or two. I'll start paying attention to see if this is a real problem or not.

I'd get that checked out at the dealer.

I've had this issue happen and the last time it happened I could not get the rear windows to roll down at tall.

I had the car in for an oil change, so the dealership did a repair, butt I don't remember the exact details.....I will look them up later today when I return home and post what they fixed.

So it was a mechanical issue? I have had that happen on occasion. I thought maybe there was a way to lock them by holding them down or something. Usually was the rear passenger window that wouldn't respond.

I remember that it did not require any of the switches to be changed, but there was a wire fix, a capacitor needed discharged, and something needed re-programmed.

When I'm home from work today I'll try to remember to look in my files to put down the exact wording of the fix.

Thanks for this. I am due an oil change at the dealer in 200 miles. I will have them look at it.

It shows you in the manual how to reset the windows. See below.

i may have to try the reset. although i find it odd that all 4 of my windows are exhibiting the behavior i described earlier.

My rear window switches have been wonky with the front switch being flaky when it gets cold. The dealer has ordered new switches.
