R-Spec Road Noise in Rain?

Hi guys,

Recently traded in my 2011 4.6 for a new 2013 R-Spec. As compared to my 2011, there is a lot of road noise noticeable when the roads are wet and it's raining. It's a deep, throaty roar that corresponds with the engine RPMs. Right after a shift up, the noise quiets down some until higher RPMs are reached. Seems like the more water on the road, the louder the sound is. Dry driving is fine and quiet. Is this standard for the R-Spec? I hear the beginnings of this rumble around a tight turn near a structure, almost like sound is bouncing off of the wall that I'm driving by and creating vibration. I know the engine is bigger than what I'm used to, but this seems unusual.

Thanks! So you notice a definite audible difference when your drive your R-Spec in rain (not a light sprinkle) vs dry?

I would say it's unusual and it sounds like TCS is doing its weird things, my guess?
Where I live or drive, it rains more than twice a day and typically down pour, and I hear next to nothing besides the wipers at work.

If it was tcs then the engin would rev just sligtly with a noticable gripping of whichever tire was slipping at the moment. Yes?

No the engine cuts power to avoid spin.

Well, as suspected, the shop doesn't know what to diagnose without actually driving it in the rain and listening to the engine. In this case, there isn't any loss of power or issue with traction; the sound is heard throughout all acceleration. None of the techs have much experience driving the R-Spec, so they can't say whether this is a normal sound or not. As long as I'm not experiencing any drivability issues, I'll chalk it up to the way sound travels during a typical Florida summer deluge.
