If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Looking to finally buy a Genesis with the 2012 model and have been impatiently waiting for the 2012s to finally reach Missouri.

Noticed that Shawnee Mission Hyundai (which is actually in Kansas but in a suburb of Kansas City, MO) has an R-Spec listed in inventory. Called and it's not on the lot yet and it might be one week to one month before it actually arrives - but it is coming.

Can't wait to test drive.

hmm, I will go there and test drive once it show up at the dealership. Assuming my wife ok with us take the trip.

Some of these cars are going to be sold before you get a chance to test drive them.

Hopefully Hyundai makes more of them. Remember the rumor that said they will make 12,000 R-Spec or something?

thought that they were only making 1200 of them in '12??

and Mark888 is dead on with that post..

I was told via email from Jenkins Hyundai of Ocala that only 12000 of the R Spec would be built for 2012.

Looks like the dealer added one too many zeros. Also, don't believe everything you hear from a dealer.

From a practical point of view, Hyundai only sold 29,122 genesis in 2010 (includes sedan and coupe because Hyundai doesn't break down the numbers between the two in their sales reports), and based on 6 months of sales, they are on track to sell a little over 30,000 in 2011. Hyundai already said R spec will be a limited production model, so 12,000 clearly does not fit with their own sales figures and their statements.

Currently driving a 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP of which ~1,800 were made and it's rare to see one and it wasn't easy to buy one new either. So with 1,200 get ready now. :)

i just got a 2011 4.6 from shawnee mission. salesman was steve genova. i did the deal via text as i live 250 miles away. i also had a trade-in. gave 17k plus 2007 toyota avalon limited. best experience ive ever had. beat my local dealers by 4-5k. Steve Genova was honest and real good to work with. i was worried they would renig on deal but they stuck to it and had the paperwork ready to go when i got there. i highly recommend them. shop around but i bet these guys are hard to beat. if any of you want to contact steve ill send you his number if you email me with hyundai in subject line. email skcbb5@yahoo.com
by the way im 58 and have bought alot of cars and the 4.6 genesis is by far the best. just wish it was from detroit

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
fitzmall.com is now listing an R-Spec on its website. It shows the R-Spec to be on order and scheduled for delivery to Fitzgerald's Clearwater, Florida dealership. The internet price is barely reduced from MSRP, but in watching their website over the last week or so I noted that they did the same thing with the 2012 V8's and only until the last few days (which my coincide with their delivery to the dealership) did they start drastically reducing the offered price on the 2012 V8's. Based on two dealers now showing the cars on their websites, it appears we may be seeing R-Spec's at the dealerships within the next 1-2 weeks.

I have a dealer offering me the R-Spec (which isn't in stock yet but expected "within two weeks") for $40,601.95 + a $99 documentation/admin fee (Hyundai Circle price - $1,500 loyalty rebate - $400 grad school graduate rebate). Unfortunately, my 30 day wait on Motozuma likely won't be up at that point so that's $500 I'd be missing out on.

Hard to commit to a car sight unseen and without having driven it, but I'm awfully tempted to put a hold deposit on this thing for that price.

Has anyone driven the R-Spec yet? I've devoured every review out there on the internet, but I don't think anyone from the forum has actually sat behind the wheel and offered up a detailed comparison. I'm interested in a review from someone that owns a Genesis and really knows how it handles rather than reviewers who vaguely remember the Genesis among the million cars they test drive each year.

Any input, encouragement, discouragement, berating and prodding is welcomed.

can you post a copy of the email from the dealer with the proof it shows an R spec? not doubting that's what you believe but that would be insane if accurate.

The email chain is quite long, but it does reference the VIN number of the exact vehicle and it clearly mentions the R-Spec - there's no confusion. And FWIW, I'm an attorney so I'm twice as anal as your average customer and twice as careful.

The price isn't that insane, though. The Circle Price is 42,501.95 - $1,500 Loyalty - $400 new grad.

I believe the 1200 rspec's will go very fast. Therefore I purchased one from 2 thousand miles away. The car is actually still at the dock. I won't take delivery for 4 weeks.

I am very excited. Good luck to you. I encourage quick decisions for the rspec. I could be wrong on the demand but I knew that I wanted one.

Cheers,
Newman

As an update, got a confirmed and signed offer from the dealer clearly listing it as an R-Spec and with the VIN.

I have a $500 deposit on it and it's supposed to be here Tuesday or Wednesday. Seems aggressive given that they haven't hit elsewhere yet, but I'm not going to argue with them about until it's late. I may be able to join the ranks of Genesis owners in a week's time.

They at least have to do a page long test drive review.

@Trotti
Price of that thing is crazy. Nice!

I promise. This forum has been a huge help in deciding upon, planning for and purchasing a Gene. And I will try to express my thanks to everyone by posting copious reviews and pictures. My car is still at the dock and is slated for delivery to my house (2k miles from the dealership) about the middle of August. Therefore I probably won't have the very first reviews.

Cheers,
Newman

Where are all the 4.6's ????
