Race Chip dyno/0-60/1/4 mile numbers on G80 3.3T

I recently installed the race chip GTS on my G80 Sport and I feel like it is making a difference but I was wondering if anyone had any dyno graphs or 0 to 60 numbers they could share. What are the numbers to the wheels for the HP increase after installing it? Link below


Also does anyone know what the race chip is actually doing and how it is different from a JB4 map? I know the JB4 communicates with the cars ECU and the race chip doesn't. What is giving the car more boost with the race chip?

The RaceChip simply manipulates the pressure sensors, lying to the ECU to fool it into making more boost. The early Burger product living under the brand name "Bytetronik" did that a decade ago. In fact, I still have one from my Sonata that I'm going to try on my brother's G80 before he goes full JB4 just to see what it's capable of.

The current JB4 nets extra boost in the same way but it also monitors other ECU parameters over the canbus so it can fine-tune boost and fueling to make more power in a safer fashion. At the end of the day it's still fooling the ECU into making these changes but it's really good at it :D Its logging function allows you to monitor and fine-tune it in a way no other piggyback has ever done.

In the midrange it's a monster - over 300 tq at the wheels in a 3400 lb car means you move NOW. I went to the track before the IC or exhaust mods and managed 13.9 @ 101 with a 2nd gear start because it just wouldn't hook up at WOT in first gear. I've fixed that since then by switching to Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 tires on the front and they stick like glue even on the street. I'd say it feels like it would trap 106-107 mph and it still gets 30 mpg highway.

From a roll it manhandles your typical Hemi Charger but isn't (yet) enough to tackle the 6.4 liter cars. Everything about it is designed to look like it could be stock, from the grille to the wheels to the headlights and tail lights, yet it's all aftermarket. Mufflers are stock so it doesn't sound like a rice rocket. People take a look at the old guy behind the wheel and assume it must be totally stock. There's enough audio in the trunk to ripple the roof yet it's usually used for 80s music - nobody drowns out my Fleetwood Mac or Phil Collins at an intersection. I drive it to work during the week and the Equus is for weekends.

The Equus and the Sonata are both right around 30k miles so neither is going anywhere for quite a while.

I used to have a 2014 KIA Optima SXL 2.0T.

I mitigated the FWD wheel spin with a UR Racing front strut brace and some Michelin tires. The brace helped the car hook up and reduced wheel spin. Those older 2011-2014 2.0T engines used in the Optima and Sonata were badass with a simple boost upgrade.;)

However, the 2.0T(tuned or stock) makes no where near the power of a tuned 3.3T or even stock 5.0, but is still a fun engine in a compact sedan.

I've been tinkering with turbo cars for 30 years now. The Sonata is far from the fastest car I've done but I wanted a daily driver that wasn't boring. I keep telling myself "it isn't that kind of car" when I consider more mods yet I keep doing them :D

You see, people on other forums assume that since I have (and enjoy) a Hyundai I must not understand "real" performance. It's often assumed that the Sonata is my first "quick" car and thus my expectations are low. These are just some of the cars I've had over the years (The Supra was my brother's; the CL65 has been his weekend car for 10 years and the G80 Sport in my sig is his daily). I bought the Legacy GT new when they were released in Sept 04 and had it making 400whp within the first year. My Stealth ran 12.50s twenty years ago. The Supra topped 500 whp before Fast & Furious was ever a thing, with all mods done in my driveway. Even the 89 Mirage turbo (pictured at the DSM Shootout in 2000) made double its stock horsepower and still netted 40+ mpg.

I even modded my last daily, a 2000 Lincoln Continental. When was the last time you saw one of these that wasn't a POS?! (and had a Superchips program and HID projector retrofit)
