  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just wanted to post this for informative knowledge really. I bought my fully loaded G70 3.3 sport a while back as a CPO (certified preowned) with 26k on the dash and the only issue I had was a radio problem where the sound tends to skip regardless of radio, wired apple car play, Bluetooth ETC. My dealer swapped out the radio unit, the amplifier, coil capacitor for amp, the alternator and also the dash harness as well as the control harness under the hood. The harness seemed to fix it for about a month or less and the problem came back. After that I installed a JB4 as well as the HKS recommended spark plugs after being gapped. While installing the plugs I came across a broken coil with a ripped boot and rusty coil. Replaced that cylinder coil and BAM! Problem solved. Like I said I’m only posting this for knowledge and incase anyone comes across an issue like this in the future. Stay safe out there owners. 🏎️

Which coil pack was this? I had the same issue (didn’t notice any radio issues, except no FM reception) with a coil pack, #3 I believe (passenger side middle). I’ve got a ‘19 3.3L with 70K and upgraded my spark plugs in the first week I had it.

It was the passenger middle coil. Boot was ripped and coil was rusted

Exactly my issue. I wonder if the boots got torn upon previous installation? I bought mine used and immediately started modding, when I went to pull it out there was zero resistance. Trying to clean out the gunk without anything falling in was not fun to say the least.

Wow, that one was bad! I was amazed I didn’t have a misfire or engine light
I also had no problems prior. I didn’t have a spare so I put it back in (different, easier to get to position) and drove it around a few days waiting on my order from RockAuto.
