  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I recently brought my 2011 4.6 in for several issues. Driver's door wouldn't lock with remote. Steering wheel adjustment wouldn't go full up. Finally, the radio volumn knob broke and fell off.

They kept the car over night and the next marning I got the bill. Car has 36,900 miles and is out of warranty and the dealer apparently forgot I had the extended warranty.

The price they gave me for the replacement RADIO KNOB was $60.00. I about sh*t, it's a piece of plastic with a metal insert to hold it on the metal post. Thank goodness for the bumper-to-bumper extended warranty.

My question is could this be correct?

OMG  Radio Knob cost $60.00   not good
Do they fix the other issues ??????

Shouldn't warranty cover up to 50K? Radio 36K?
(Would've "test drove" new car on the lot- hey lookie here, a new knob!)

A broken knob unless it is a mfg defect noted in a TSB or other notice to dealer should not be covered under any warranty.

I ordered mine thru the dealer. Although it wasnt under warranty it only cost about $1.15 and the service guy poped it on.

Youre dealer is ripping you off.

The radio knob on my 4.6 also broke off at 22K. The cost from the dealer was $54.60 (they showed me the computer listing). They ended up replacing it under warranty so it was no charge to me... just a hassle.

It was probably $4.60 for the part, plus 30 min labor (probably the minimum labor duration) at $100 per hour.

But don't forget that Bernie Madoff also had lots of computer listings.
