  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone know if it's possible to disable the function where the radio stays on until the drivers door is opened?
(after the motor is shut-off)

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I don't think this can be disabled. Not only does the radio stay on, but if (like I do) you normally drive with the headlights in the ON position, they will also stay on until you open the door. It is an annoying quirk that has no practical advantage I can determine.

Fairly common feature in newer cars especially luxury models. My GMC Denali, Genesis and Mercedes all have this feature.

I'm not sure about all cars with this feature, but when GM started adding it, it was called Retained accessory power. You could turn the car off and still close the windows, sun roof, hear the radio, etc. Hyundai missed the mark a little on the Genesis (at least on my 2016 3.8 Base). The radio stays on but the windows don't work. I don't know about the sun roof as I don't have one. I would have to call it useless.

This has been a very common feature of most upscale cars for several years now. My 2016 Ultimate system plays for a couple of minutes and than shuts off. I also have the ability to close my windows (with the engine off) as well as other accessory and other common features. Just an upscale feature like the "Big Boys". I have the same features on my 2006 Toyota Avalon.
