  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all, I have a 2011 Genesis 4.6. I am having problems changing radio stations using the large knob on the center console. It used to work fine for moving to different stations by spinning it, but it does nothing now. It does however work for other things such as spinning it to move through my music on a memory stick, or move through the XM radio stations, but nothing for AM/FM. I have the correct setting highlighted for changing the station and do not have another option selected. Anyone else had this problem? Do I need to "reset" the radio? If that is even possible? This just started this weekend, and I have turned off/on the radio and car several times, but still nothing. Also while in AM/FM, I cannot select any of the options on the left. I cannot select any option other than Tune from the option list on the left. It seems to work for everything but AM/FM mode

That's a new one. Does it scroll by pages if you push forward and aft on the knob?

Have you done any software updates lately? Corrupted is possible in any non-volatile memory ... might be the case here if you haven't.

You can try disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a half-hour... but if the memory is corrupt, not much is going to fix it. Possibly a reflash and possibly a new head unit.

I have not had any software updates done since i have owned the car. It was basically just the left push for all menus and scroll for AM/FM not working. I havent done anything to it and now it is working again. Not sure what the issue was, maybe the connections on the knob and getting dirty, but I will keep an eye on it. Thanks for the reply.
