Radio Wacky and also DIS Knob too!!!

2010 Genesis 4.6...

The other day, my radio came on by itself, was able to shut it off. The next day is came on again and everything was frozen...couldn't shut it off, could not change channels, also DIS knob was frozen...wouldn't do anything....Shut car off, waited a few minutes started back up, radio on but no sound....Shut car off, came back half hour later, everything was ok...Seemed "frozen"...

Heard some people say here that a new head unit didn't help, dealer told me on phone it could be electrical, gonna bring it in for service.

Anybody have an ideas or experience anything like this?

I assume you know that the warranty on the electronic entertainment systems and NAV is only 3 years or 36K miles, whichever comes first. If your system is out of warranty it will cost a minimum of $3K to fix it (based on what others on this forum have said).

Typically this is caused by an electrical problem, usually a poor/intermittent connection someplace. I have seen issues in the forum caused by bad grounds and this may be you problem too. They are difficult to find being intermittent and all.
