  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I never had a bit of problem playing music using my playlist on my smart phone, for some reason I can't do it any more. I start my music then press cd/ aux twice as I always have, but no go.

Hi, could you please expand a little, how are you connecting your smartphone to your car radio unit?
Are you using via BT?

Yes I'm using bluetooth. I did recharge and pair my old smartphone and it didn't work either, I'm guessing it may be something with the Genesis and not a phone issue.

Re-boot your smartphone. Then delete BT pairing and re-pair.

Which model of head unit do you have? I found out, to my dismay, that the Hyundai DIS in my 2011 Genny 4.6 does NOT support streaming bluetooth audio (A2DP) or control (AVRCP). The only functionality is for hands-free phone connectivity (HFP/HSP).

I ended up adding a USB-powered bluetooth device with an AUX out and connecting that way.

Up until my last factory reset, which really helped the phone, I never had a bit of problem streaming music thru the audio system without a cable. There have been no changes to my Genesis at all, there are no settings I'm aware of. I'll reboot and re pair again can't say it didn't work if I didn't try it. It's looking like it's going to be a cable for me, my first Genesis had a 6 disc player which worked real well for me.

There is a Setup setting in my car to enable/disable BT streaming. Did you look for that setting? You don't say what year, or model, that you own.

That's what I needed to know. My 2013 Equus Signature has no such setting. So it isn't me that does not know how to get my iPhone 5 to stream music. It can't be done.

We have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit that does allow blue tooth streaming.

Your car and circumstance may be different. I have a touchscreen Nav system and an iPhone 5.

There is no reason why your Equus should not stream BT audio from your iPhone. If you recently upgraded to iOS 7 for your iPhone, you need to reboot your phone. Then you need to delete your pairing and re-pair. If all else fails, see a salesman at your dealership. Can we assume that you have also read your owner's manual regarding BT audio?

I believe it should be capable as of the '13 but its hard to say. As it worked previously I would take it in under warranty and maybe they will just replace the unit if its broken.

I have a 2012 3.8, I'm unaware of any setting or changing a configuration, I've been able to blue tooth stream in the past.

I don't believe anything is broken. As far as I can tell the DIS system is identical to the system I had in my 2009 Genesis.

I had a 2014 Equus Ultimate loaner two weeks ago that had a very different DIS system but I didn't check to see if it could stream via blue tooth.

Mine never has worked. I don't see how it's possible if there is not setting for it.

Does anyone have a 2013 Equus Signature that is able to stream music with blue tooth.

As a last resort I looked in the owner's manual. No mention of streaming music via blue tooth.

It appears that I have to delete all phones and re-pair all phones which I have not tried. If streaming music via blue tooth is not in the settings menu of the car I don't see how deleting and re-pairing the phone will do any good.

In the previous post I asked if anyone with a 2013 Equus Signature can stream music. Since supposedly the 2012 and 2013 don't have any changes (I know this is not 100% true but everyone else thinks it is true) perhaps I should ask if anyone with a 2012 can stream music.

For that matter what year did the Genesis first enable blue tooth streaming music?

Ok, I have deleted the phone and re-paired it. No steaming music via blue tooth.

Pretty sure it can't be done with this car.

For the of the top of Hyundai line it doesn't have some of the features that the lesser cars have. It doesn't have blue link like a Sonata. I called Hyundai on this one. It is not available on the 2013 Equus Signature.

I got it working. My bt was enabled, I unenabled it and turned off the car, then started the car and re enabled the bt........works perfect again.
