  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Looks very nice. Well done! Excited to see them mounted.

Beautiful.

Yeah! Looking strong.

That's what I mean.

definitely accomplished that imo. I have thought about dipping them black as well (vs. paying a body shop to paint) but wasn't sure how well they would come out with all the nook and cranny. Any advice?

Thanks! The plasti-dipping seems to have worked well and I got the result I was hoping for...It's a grippy rubber like surface once dry, so I'm wondering how it will pick up dirt....

Tips:

1. Make absolutely sure the wheel is spotless clean, which is difficult with the 20 spoke wheels
2. One light "tack" coat and 5-6 WET coats. You'll be surprised how close you should spray the wheel with the can and not get runs... Make sure you coat everything, including the tire with a 1-2 inch band.
3. Let each coat dry for 10-20 minutes - you will know when it's dry as it will clearly turn to a matte finish. When it goes on, it's glossy.
4. Spray the wheels so they are standing (like being on the car)
5. You will need 4 cans for 4 wheels
6. Oh yeah, apply tire shine to the tire sidewall - This way you don't need to tape the tire and the plasti-dip almost falls off after. Worked really good.
7. Wear a mask in a well ventilated area
8. Let it cure for 24 hours

Have fun!

@Toddasaurus - I saw that laughing face emoji. You know my wheels look mean man.. you know it...! :devilish:

Just need to lower the car in you'll be golden!

I think those days are behind me... although I do agree it would look really good. I'm in Canada with lots of snow, so clearance is important. The car is a beast in winter.

Straight gray. Navy ship gray. Black grille. Black trim. Red calipers (still).

I like the black chrome nice cross between sport and luxury, but that black trim does look great.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Agreed. Black trim looks nice. Some colors may look better and accent better than others. Would have been a cool option for the sport trim to have that choice.

Anyone have a black car with blacked out trim? Working towards that right now but would love to see some pictures before I potentially regret my decision lol

No excuses!! Haha
I spent the last 6 years pushing snow around with my Genesis Coupe on Eibach Sportline springs (1.6" drop all around), only got stuck 2-3 times over 6 winters in Wpg. It wasn't fun, however, which is a huge reason why I moved up to G70 for AWD, bit more comfort, and more powaaa.
I told myself I wouldn't lower this one but ehh don't quote me
