If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Happens when going over rough pavement. There seems to be a light spring loaded part that is in the front end. I don’t think it’s a sway bar link.

it’s just annoying

I have same exact issue and have had it since day one. I had it looked it at numerous times. They claimed to find loose parts but the issue returns. Sometimes cycling between driving modes (Normal, Sport, Snow) and raising/lowering the suspension height helps but not always. It is very annoying. I keep my stereo volume up high enough to drown it out most of the time. Let me know if you come up with something! It's the ONLY issue I've had in the six years I've owned it!

yep…almost from day one. I have to pull the bumper to change some headlights. I am going to take some pics of what I think is the problem and a possible plan to fix it

probably do it next week

I am missing part of my fender liner. I think air gets underneath..and it is flapping. I am going to spend 150 dollars for a new one…see what happens

I hope that's all there is to your issue! Let me know how it goes when you get the new liner installed. And take pics if you think about it. Thanks! I don't think this is my issue as the noise occurs at nearly any speed and it doesn't sound like anything flapping. The sound I hear is a "loose rattling noise" that seems to be associated with the suspension and quite possibly the air-ride system. Good luck. Looking forward to hearing how it goes!

Changing the fender liner is not going to eliminate my rattle…. I am going to take it for another ride tomorrow before I put the fender liner back…..

I am thinking it might be behind the glove box. I will let you know more tomorrow

I am wondering if it could be the wiper fluid reservoir.

Thanks for the updates. Sorry the fender liner wasn't the culprit. Let me know what you find out on the glovebox. And I'll check my wiper fluid reservoir, too.

Finally took it to a muffler shop. They put it up in the air and couldn’t find anything loose. I was right there under the car. Rattle still there at low speed. Not on the interstate. Mor noticeable in cold weather

Hey check your trim piece around the windshield. I had a knocking/rattle too. It turns out theres a black trim piece that was tapping off the A pillar. It was taking some paint off too.

I know it has been a year since this thread was active but I recently had service done on my Equus and I think they finally found the rattling issue! They replaced both the left and right sway bar links and I now hear nothing but silence! I'll have to drive it a bit more to make sure but so far so good! So check that if you're still having your issue. Good luck!

I had the passenger sway bar end link replaced rattle gone. Lived with this for three years

That's great news, Lee. Glad the fix worked for you. I endured that noise for over seven years! Really thought about getting rid of it over that but am now planning on keeping it at least another few.

My driver side front end was rattling as well, and it was also a sway bar issue. They couldn't find it on the lift or a jack because the car needed to be fully on the ground with load on the suspension to cause it. I finally found it when I was changing oil with ramps and not jackstands like I usually do. Just tightened up the nut and didnt have another issue.

Glad you figured out your issue, too. And good to know it's a fairly easy fix if the linkage is just loose. My repair is going on a month and holding. It's just so nice to have a nice quiet ride again. Enjoy!

I just had this issue. I changed control arms first still heard the noise. Then inner outer tie rods still had the noise. Yesterday Finally I changed sway bar link noise disappeared.
