  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I recently picked up a new 2010 4.6 with Tech Package. Overall I am very happy, but there is a subtantial rattle somewhere in the steering column when the car hits a bump or expansion joint on a bridge. It almost seems like the airbag in the steering wheel may be loose. Anyone else have this problem? I intend to take it into the dealer as soon as I get a chance, but I thought I would see if anyone else has experienced this problem.

I have heard a rattle at various times, more coming from the dash than the steering column. Similar behavior to your description. Anyway, I found that it is related to the CD changer. If I remove all disks from the CD player, then reload them, the rattle stops. So I've concluded it is something in the CD player that is rattling. Very pleased. :)

I have a 2011 with a premium nav pckg, i don't use the CD player and I still hear a rattiling noise of some sort like you from the dashboard. I have even thought that it may be coming from the glove box. I have sorted the glove box with no favorable result. It's really annoying to hear that noise.

Check the cabin air filter for correct installation. Its behind the glove box.

I have the same rattle any updates on repair procedures?
