What tires are you using for winter driving?

Only real option out there now for the 5.0 staggered arrangement is the LM 32 Blizzak you have shown. Those with the V6 have quite a bit more to choose from. The wheels are pretty special considering the spec 5.0 wheels will not clear the 2015 callipers and therefor wheels are rathe limited. Also considering the darn sensors are $170 a pop. Bottomline is I also went with the Blizzaks which will be mounted on the stock wheel.

I probably would have went black on black but they had this on the lot and I didn't want to wait two months...

Here is what the Tesla Sedan forum folks say are the best.. I never heard of this before. I asked them comparison to LM60 or XIce. And they laughed. Said this are light years ahead. Why am I in with the that bunch? Saving pennies for one at some point. Amazing car... Not because it is electric. It is just amazing period. And love the Genny I own, the new gen and Equus. Anyway, if one wants to do research:

Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2.

According to Consumer reports the Nokian Hakkapeliiitta R2 has terrible wet braking, dry braking and are noisy. They are also just average for hydroplaning. They are rated high on ice and snow however. Personally I would not buy something with those important compromises unless I lived north of the Arctic Circle.

Those LM-60 still have 9/32 life in them! You know how much I paid for them, right? I don't care about newer model at this point

Every year "new" tires are released in an attempt to get people to shell out more money for the latest and greatest. Tire technology isn't rocket science and they don't change that much year to year. Our LM-60 are just as good. Don't believe the hype

Keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better, but technology does march forward and improve. With that said, the differences may not be hugely significant/meaningful to you (and it certainly never makes sense to throw out perfectly good tires because an improved model is released) - but I like the idea of a winter tire that has improved performance when it's not full blown winter road conditions - so I'll buy the LM-32's over the LM-60's as I'm starting fresh (and I won't be bothered if they launch a better LM-33 next year).

I'll GoPro them, how they perform in snow probably not as good as my AWD Santa Fe last year 2013 SFS 2 0T AWD + Crazy Bobcat
