Rear camera intermittent

Some days the nav screen is all black with the red and yellow lines while the car is in reverse. Other times the rear camera works great day or night. It will work great for a few days then it will show black for a few days. Night day hot cold don't seem to matter. It 's been doing this for 2 years. Was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem.
I did a search and could not find this problem.

I had this problem and had it fixed under warranty with a new camera. I also took a video of the issue and showed them it in case they tried to say it wasn't doing the issue for them.

Same here. New camera, no further problems.

Same problem here. Plan to have it replaced when I take it in for next oil change at 18,000 miles.

Same here, had this problem on my 2010 3.8 Premium. They replaced the camera twice but it turned out to be a problem in the head unit. Wish it was as straightforward as replacing the camera for me...

Same here. New camera, no further problems.

Ditto for me on my 2010. As of this moment, no problems on my 2012. If your experience is like mine, it will go from intermittent to full-on failure. What I would do is take a video of it happening to show the dealer to avoid the dreaded "Unable to Reproduce" label.

Hmm I honestly don't remember, and I don't have the receipts for that car anymore.
