  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does the AEB system work in conjunction with the Rear Cross Tracking system/alarm?

I don't think so, had a pedestrian that triggered it whom I could clearly see was not going to get run over (or even close) and I chose to keep going despite the alerts. The car didn't take over.

Then again, this car is so damned smart it could have seen that I braked a little and then continued, which would pass a logic test for not taking over control. So who knows?

Rear Cross Traffic Alert from the owner's manual - "... warning chime will sound, the warning light on the outside rearview mirror will blink, and a message will appear on the LCD display."

I don't think it will automatically apply the brakes when in reverse.

No, AEB will not engage under the circumstances you describe. At least it never has for me. Having had the same question after first starting to drive mine, I've gently tested for such a response and it is not there.

AEB doesn't kick in until approx. 5 mph.
