  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi everyone,

Just purchased a 2015 CPO 5.0 Ultimate Genesis in Montecito Blue. It's the nicest car I've owned! This is my first post btw...

I bought the car last Saturday and the center armrest that folds down in the back seat is stuck. When I pull the handle, it feels loose like it's not engaging the latch. I took it into service and they said they need to remove the seat entirely to get to it. I have to bring it back and drop off for the day :/ I'm tempted to try to fix this myself.

Any ideas on how to release the latching mechanism?

Thanks,
Paul

I had hard time pulling the rear armrest down the first time. You may have to try a little harder by unlatching in one hand and pulling it down the other hand. After the first time, it is easy from then on.

Mine was the same and I've had it a just a few days, but with my 5 year old yanking on it a few times, it's gotten easier... I agree though that the release is not very smooth or consistent...
