  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone have it? If so, could your dealer locate a cause/fix? Not present when retracted. Thanks.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I've only driven with it deployed once or twice when I forgot to retract it before starting off, but it sounded fine. (I wish it retracted automatically when the car is in gear.)

I've owned two Hyundai Genesis and in neither did the shade rattle...might be good to have the dealer take a look at it.

Doesn't it retract automatically when the gear is shifted in reverse?? Mine does.

There is one bass frequency in a couple songs I have played that causes my sunshade to rattle when it is up but otherwise it seems to not make noise.

I always have the rear sunshade up (except when car is in reverse) and I don't remember hearing any rattle. In addition, my kids put 2 side window shades with suction cups and they don't make sound either - except the smiling bears graphics totally take away the sophisticated look of the car, LOL.

I think that I was in drive the times it happened - probably should retract in either case.

If your driver memory settings are set to have the sunshade up when you are driving then yes it would stay up, however if you didn't set it up to the memory settings then you can re-program your driver settings (1 or 2), and have your sunshade retracted prior to pressing the set button to store that setting. That way it's automatic.

Or you can just press the button next to the driver memory setting (1 & 2) to retract it while you're driving. either way

I had the similar problem at about 21k where one side on the top of the shade rattled. The sunshade retracted without a problem, just the rattling noise.
The dealer had no problem looking at the issued and they replaced the whole assembly. The Hyundai part number is 85690-3M000.
