Good morning,
After searching through other shade threads I wasn't able to find a remedy other then some saying to take it to the dealership so I apologize if I missed the right thread. Either way I have a 2016 Genesis 3.8 AWD with the Signature and Technology packages and over the past month or so the rear shade has begun to rattle when going over bumps.
I took a look back there and it seems as though it's not retracting into its housing all of the way but even with a little bit of assistance it won't go back in all of the way, I'm positive that it used to go all the way into the housing by itself. Does anyone know how to access the housing that the sunshade is in or know of what a possible solution could be? I avoid taking the car to the local dealership because my buying experience was absolutely terrible and the service department isn't much better (The car was supposed to not have any dealer markings or a front plate bracket but I was given some BS excuse that it's against the law to not install the front bracket in NJ and I would have to do it, rather then argue I dealt with it).
There is one other dealer in the area, but after going in there for pricing I didn't want to stay because the sales manager said that he would only give me a final price if I was committed to buying that day....not happening (I sold Lincoln's for a year after I graduated from college so I know how the game works). I've always done the oil changes, brakes, filters, and whatever other maintenance needed to be done on all of my cars so I'm not worried about having to dive into anything to fix this.
Thanks for your help!
