  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My mechanic told me last week the rear Continuous Damping Control (CDC) shocks are leaking oil and need to be replaced on my 2014 Equus.

The odometer reads a little over 200,000 km (that's about 125,000 miles).

Unlike the struts for the front, both he and I can't find them anywhere on the used market.

They're about $2,500 new (roughly $2,000 USD). If I buy the Strutmasters conversion kit with the light module, it's $2,145 Canadian with shipping and duties (or about $1,700 USD) for the whole system.

I feel like this is what I should do. Is this what I should do? I just want to be sure before going through with it, so if you have any advice, please advise.

Strutmasters gets good reviews on this forum. But, you'll have to deal with the warning light on your dash.

This website sells the OEM rear shocks for your car at about $960 each plus shipping. I would just go with the OEM shocks for that price and hope they last another 125k miles. The Strut Master conversion may not ride as good as the stock adaptive shocks and they are only $300 cheaper.
