  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have the 4.6 with tech package and find that backing up activates the camera (very helpful) and dropped both rearview mirrors to show the ground around the backtires (also helpful if I am looking to miss a curb, othewise not so much)

I made a recent discovery (someone tell me where this is in the manual(s) When I put the car in reverse I found that if I toggle the rearview mirror selector to center position neither mirror drops, or if they are dropped they both come back to normal. If I move the switch to the left detent both mirrors drop upon backing. If I switch the toggle to the right side mirror position only the right mirror drops. The mirrors will respond to whatever toggle position you leave. Example: leave the toggle inthe center postion and put it in park, when you go to reverse the mirrors remain in normal positon. And if you come up on say a curb on your right just toggle to the right and the right mirror drops to assist you. Too cool. Try it. this was an easter egg find for me.

4.6 w/tech blk/blk

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Yes, that is in the downers manual but seeing as how I don't have it right in front of me at the moment, I can't tell you which page it is located on.

My wife uses the feature whenever she drives the car, but I can do without it. Our Continental is also set to do it when she drives.

Bob's right. It's in the manual somewhere, but like so may other Genny things, treat it link an Easter egg and tell your friends!

Like Bob's wife, I change the switch position under differing backup conditions.

Something else you'll find in the manual- You can actually change the degree to which the down tilt happens in reverse, and store it in memory. It's been so long since I've done it I don't remember the order to do this.

I've never seen that in the manual...

As a prospective owner, this is great information. I've never read about these features in any of the reviews that have been published. Thanks!

Wooops! I'm the fool. I re-read and you are correct. It stores and recalls the 'normal' rear view mirror positions, not the down tilt. My bad:rolleyes:

I guess I spent too much time driving this beautiful car and not enough time reading about its inner workings. CL
