Health issues, specifically an artery clog.

He surprised many of the same people twice more by quitting HMG in mysterious circumstances in early 2020, then rejoining seven months later. He finally admits the hiatus was due to an embolism after stepping off a long flight. “I could not exercise my tasks, so there was nothing left to do but to resign.”

By the way, that guy has to have one of the coolest names ever. It's fun just to pronounce it. "Don-ker-vol-ka",

Also, as another aside, he was apparently named World Car Person of The Year a few months ago!
