Reattach rear view mirror on 2013 genesis

Does anyone know if I can get the medal plate out of the mirror to attach it with the glue? I don’t want to break it. I don’t know if it will work if I do it attached to the mirror, I’d have to hold it fir 30 minutes

Don't even try to mount with the mirror in place. The slug can be removed, cleaned up and reglued to the windshield. I would allow the glue to dry over night before attaching the mirror.
