  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Aim am planning on getting either a 2012 4.6 or an R spec when they arrive in dealers hopefully in July.

I would like to rebadge the rear emblem, add a front Genesis emblem, rebadge the wheels and change airbag.

Is there anything that is unique to the 2012. I assume if I go with the R spec I cannot rebadge the wheels. What about on the 4.6?

Any concerns I should have?

Larry

The 3.8 and 4.6 can be rebadged just like the 2011's.

I would like to see Hyundai come up with a new and improved wing badge

As you may know, the Genesis is not sold as a Hyundai brand in Korea, which is why the Genesis wing badges exist in the first place. The brand in Korea is "Genesis."

Now I know that some will take objection to the above statement, since the Genesis is obviously a Hyundai, even in Korea. But a Lincoln is obviously made by Ford, and some Ford dealers sell Lincolns.

Given that the Genesis is actually a brand name in Korea, I would not expect them to frequently change their logo.

It looks like the 19" wheels may use the same size center as the 17" wheels. If that holds true then the wings for the wheels will be easy-just purchase the wing emblem for 17" wheel or the korean 19" wheel wing cap will most likely be available from SFR http://sfrusa.3dcartstores.com/

Improved how? I haven't picked up my '12 yet (no inventory yet in Austin!) so I haven't seen the rebadge kits in person. Are they cheesy or something? The ones I've seen in pictures seem like an improvement over the standard Hyundai badging.

I mentioned this before. I bought the replacement wings and wheel caps (17"). I measured the caps before I went to the NY Auto Show... and they matched the 19 inch wheels on the R spec.

Soooo... unless they have different hooks/grooves on the inside of the cap itself, they should fit.
