Hello-
I bought a Twilight Blue 2012 Genesis 4.6 in February
2012. The previous car was a 1999 Honda Accord, 4 cyl
2.3, manual. It was always noisy and it was time to get
a touring car, so I started researching. Looked at
Lincolns, and they did nothing to distinguish
themselves. Started looking at Acuras and in David
Thomas's review he said I should really look at the
Genesis; so I read his review. Called a dealer and we
were off for a test. I told the salesman to drive while
Her Ladyship and I rode. We commented and asked
questions. On the way home I HAD TO TALK LIKE THIS to
be heard over the Honda's noise. I was sold. Bought the
Genesis without driving it. Never looked at Lexus,
Mercedes Benz, Cadillac, or the rest of the real candidates.
I never had a V8 and it was time. A V8 is better
balanced than a V6 and the low revolution torque makes
a quieter car. Quiet is at the top of my want list.
Since then we took some road trips. The highway passing
response is a treat. Somehow I driving the Genesis for
hours takes much less effort than the Honda. I arrive
feeling curiously refreshed.
For the first couple weeks I would sit in the driver's
seat and read the manual. As others have mentioned,
the auto-hold feature is much more useful, almost
indispensable, than one might think at first. Same
for the proximity key---it's like having an extra hand.
